Rough Diamonds

Diamond Description

  • Carat Weight: From melee-sized roughs (0.10–0.50 ct) ideal for small calibrations, to larger roughs (5–50+ ct) suitable for high-end single stones and fancy cuts.
  • Shape & Structure: Common natural forms include octahedral, dodecahedral, cubo-octahedral, and macles (twinned crystals). These shapes determine how efficiently a diamond can be cut and how much polished yield it will produce.
  • Color Range: From top white (D–H equivalent) to champagne, brown, and fancy yellow hues. Our assortments also include Type IIa roughs known for their exceptional purity and brilliance after polishing.
  • Texture & Grain: Each stone exhibits unique surface features — grain lines, trigons, and natural etch marks — indicators of its natural growth pattern and geological journey.
  • Origin: Responsibly sourced from Africa (Botswana, Namibia, South Africa) and Canada, every parcel adheres to the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, ensuring conflict-free provenance and ethical trade.
